Last Friday was my birthday and I had such a wonderful day. So much better than last year when I was cooped up with whooping cough. This year I’ve had my bout of sickness too. That weirdo thing I had for a month or so that in the end looked like it was a kidney infection ended up coming back as a ‘contaminated test’, whatever that means. A re-run of the deliciously fun urine sample had to be done and I haven’t yet got the results of that last one but it seems that I may have actually had a viral thingy plus a back issue. Two separate things but when combined looked a lot like: diabetes type 2, ms, Ross river virus, beriberi {yep, a third world country or struggling alcoholic’s issue but a possibility nonetheless} and vitamin B12 deficiency {I ended up having 3 times the amount of B12 in my body than the average. I'm not sucking down those anymore, that’s for sure}.
Good old google and good old doctors. Combine the two and you end up a raving lunatic. A raving lunatic with thrush after taking antibiotics for a kidney infection that I may not have had. You really wanted to know about the thrush bit, didn’t you. Yum. Yum.
Blah blah blah. Can you tell I’m a little hyped up today? Since getting my energy back I can’t tell you how great I feel. And to top it all off it’s autumn! Yah!
Anyway back to the reason I started blabbing on about my birthday and the whole sickness thing again. Last Friday was also the start of Jen Bishop’s #7 vignettes for March challenge. What a lovely birthday treat - an excuse to style things, make vignettes and snap away for a while.
So I thought I’d share my Day 1 of this month’s challenge with you. The subject was white. I really loved this one and went a little crazy on my camera and then remembered that this was an instagram challenge and I needed to use my iphone. Der.
I wasn’t sure where to start with the whole white theme. The sky’s the limit with white so I just started playing with all of the white things around me.
The flowers on my table at the moment are so simple and … white. They begged to be laid onto a white lacy placemat.
And then rested against a white wall.
And then onto a white tablecloth.
And then out came the fowler bowls and the other white things that I could spy within easy reach.
And before I knew it I was snapping away like a wild thing.
But a touch of black’s OK too, don’t you think?
And a taste of the sea for good measure:)
Styling and vignetting like this is so addictive. Have you ever done Jen’s vignette instagram challenge? If not, then you really should I know you’d love it.
Hope to see you over there. #7vignettes and please don’t forget to say hi to me on instagram @featherandnest :)

Did you get one of those birds from that home decor store in town? I've been wanting to get one of those for a while now, they're so pretty!
