At this cute showground luncheon pavilion,
with a willing, beefy audience,
we made some music with Melanie.
Melanie is a talented singer/songwriter who lives locally and loves to teach music. She has a beautiful, natural, unassuming way with kids and had all of us singing and playing and laughing and stomping around that luncheon pavilion with much gusto and smiling.
I wondered how Lewi would like the music morning as most of the families who came to our music morning were quite a bit younger. He loved it! He was out of his 12 year old, relatively shy comfort zone but Melanie was gorgeous and picked up on it straight away. She told him that he could just sing the words in his head if that’s what he wanted to do. This put him at ease, instantly. No pressure. So what he needed.
Melanie was an absolute highlight of our Natural Learning group activities so far and we will be definitely getting her back to do another workshop. Perhaps some drumming or ukulele next time. Fun, fun. And I’m hoping that Lew might just agree to have some guitar lessons with Melanie.
And of course I had to take a few nesty shots of the luncheon pavillion. What a cute, cute building it is!
