Adjusting

I guess I could now say that I’m adjusting to this rustic life. I’ve certainly had my moments over the past week. Moments of tears and exhaustion and regret and longing. I’ve had my princess days. Cleaning out your own little food processing goings on has definitely not been on my ‘so-glad-we-did-this’ radar.

But as the days go by and the mess outside gets ever so slowly tidied and made into more ordered mess I think I’m adjusting to this lifestyle change. Having the S bend connected to the kitchen sink yesterday really uplifted my spirits. I never knew how wonderful those S shaped pipes really were until I had to deal with my own grey water every hour or so. It’s the small things you start to become thankful for. Just like my lovely friend, Julie mentioned in one of her comments recently.

Today we are going away for the weekend. We are going here and I can’t wait. The timing is perfect. This is exactly what I need to be doing. I’m wondering how I’ll feel about life here when I get back on Sunday? I’m hoping that I’ll be ready to move further forward and start appreciating my life a lot more than I have been. I certainly have done way too much moaning and complaining and gratefulness has definitely not been on my mind. Pretty shabby really, when you think about how the less fortunate live and still seem to maintain a smile on their faces.

See you when I get back.

Happy weekend to you all!

It looks gorgeous Kim and so much like you... glad you are adjusting... feeling abit overwhelmed is fine, you are transitioning through some pretty big stuff at the moment... These things do make us appreciate life more... I know I will alway appreciate my own kitchen after living for 2 years without one... Love you heaps. I am very proud of you and we will catch up soon... Hope you had a great weekend xxxx

I do hope that you soon have the everyday "luxuries" that is so easy for us to take for granted. Despite this, your place is looking really beautiful and cozy. I love those old pantry pieces. Hope your time away gave you some rest from the whole process and you had a lovely mother's day x
