Yesterday was one of those strange ones, weather speaking. One minute it was hot and glary, so unlike this time of year, then all of sudden the dark, rain-promising clouds came over, the wind picked up, the air changed from humid to brisk, well, really chilly actually, and then my phone bip-bip-bipped. It was a message from my sister, they’ve gone away for a couple of days, up to the high country and a photo of Meily with snow all over her head! Snow! Can you believe it? The cold weather has certainly arrived with a bang.
This change in the weather has got me thinking about the things I love most about this time of the year ….
…..Cosy fires…..
Mmmmmm…. curled up by the fire with a hot chocolate in hand, a good book in the other, then a fun board game with my gorgy boy. Is there anything better?
So today’s Tea & Toast is all about fires and fireplaces. Have you got your hot chocolate tea and marshmallows toast ready?

I could happily curl up near any of those fires. The weather sure has turned today. It's still clear blue skies here, but very chilly. We were just discussing about lighting our fire today. I think we will be. Have a lovely day. Leahx
Oh freezing here too and we have 2 inside and one outside fire going atm. Hope it warms up again soon, so not ready for Winter. Hope your w/e was fab. Julia
We grew up with an open fire in NZ and it is one of the things I miss terribly here in Winter. I don't really enjoy not having much distinction between the seasons weather wise.
Give me any of those fires and I'm a happy girl :)

Cold and blustery here too with a little bit of sunshine sneaking through. NO fire here, have just put one another layer. I do love a fire in a kitchen, and also love the room with the wooden toucan.

Nice choice for this week Kim....I'm cold too! Our heater has gone on overnight as of this week, still feels too early for that! I'd much prefer to laze around in front of one of these fires instead of underneath the ceiling ducts. The room with the toucan was also my favourite! I loved the one two underneath it as well, with the criss cross mirror. So cozy. Didn't like the very bare green one though, it was a bit scary looking!
