Two art exhibitions in as many weeks!
The first was an exhibition for Matt Jones’ gorgeous Portraits. Matt was the recipient of the Living Artist scholarship project, ‘which raises funds to support a local emerging artist allowing them to stay and produce work on the Far South Coast’.
Matt has an art studio and coffee bar at Bermagui {Mister Jones} and has given Lew and the home schooling gang some art lessons in the past. We were so pleased to hear the exciting news that Matt was the winning recipient of the Living Artist scholarship and so of course we had to be there on the opening night of his Portraits exhibition.

The next exhibition we went to was Sculpture on the Edge at Bermagui. Sculptures are placed all over the headland at Bermi were people can wander around and appreciate the art and, perhaps, buy some as well.
The next one, the dandelions, was both Lewi and my favourite. So clever!
I also loved this one. A sticky wave…
And this mermaid tail…
Lew loved this piranha piece.
And these birds I could so have in my garden…
Beautiful Bermagui has definitely got some talent. I’m so pleased that my 12 year old artist got to taste some of it.
What better way to learn about art than to walk around it and talk about it and experience it and be a part of it.
Happy Learning!
