Nest In The Vines: The Birthing of A Shed

OK, so the roofline’s final. The electrician’s been and gone. My lovely digger man has done much of his work. The frames and trusses are ready and waiting. My Dad and my brother, Tom are chomping at the bit {at least Dad definitely is!}The tank is ordered and on its way.  The concreter, Boris, is chosen and ready to start.

The poor guy who delivered these trusses had just run over his dog on his way down here. He was crying as he shared briefly, what happened. The poor, poor man. It was so hard to find any words of comfort for him.

What else do I need to organise? What have I forgotten? I’m sure there’s something. There always is.

This process is never easy for me. It’s how the building game is for someone who has no clue. Regardless of the fact that I’ve been there, done that before. It seems irrelevant. I wonder if this is how it feels for someone who is about to give birth for the second time? It feels a lot like birth to me. Painful yet exciting. Stressful yet I’m ready to embark. Foggy in the brain yet extremely aware of every single thing {especially the painful bits}.

Yep, yep building the shed is just like child birth. And like the new, birthing Mumma awaiting her healthy, happy, shiny new baby to come forth and get the heck out, so too do I await the building of this nest that will be home for a bit. And  I hope to God {literally!} that it will end up being something liveable and bearable and not leave me penny-less. {not that I doubt you, Dad and Tom}.

So, next week, out at the block there will be some digging and some power cable laying and some tank site levelling and some shed site flattening and I will be hoping, hoping, hoping that I don’t regret the decision to put this thing on a slab!

Wowzers you sure are cranking along with this build :)
This to me would be the boring bit when we finally build...it's the interior that I would be chomping at the bit to get my hands on and I have no doubt that I am going to be swooning big time over how your nest looks once complete.

oh and yes...no liking these robot words...at.all!
