Tea & Toast: A Vintage Summer Holiday

via

Well, we all know that it’s well and truly summer. We’ve all been swimming. We’ve all commented on the sweltering heat. how bloody hot is it? type convos with the guy at the post office. We’ve all been thankful for that cool change that comes when we really, desperately need it. We’ve all enjoyed a sip of cold ale or icey fruit drink. We’ve all sucked on chunks of fresh, juicy summer fruits and had it dribble down our chins and stain our brand new white singlet tops – haven’t we?

Summer is all about holidays in Australia. Holidays Aussie style hasn’t moved on much from the lovely vintage era. Simple. Relaxing. Somewhere near a beach. Nothing much need change.

In honour of all that. Of all that is summer in Australia, I thought we’d take our tea and toast off on a summer holiday, vintage style drool fest. Holidays through a vintage lense – couldn’t be better! Vintage is making a comeback – have you heard?

So go, on, grab your Tea & Toast! ….Oh wait, before we go, I have been meaning to say that even if you’re reading this in the afternoon or after dinner and even if I post a little later than normal due to total disorganisation, all’s well as tea & toast can be inhaled at any moment of the day. Don’t you agree?

Off we go on our vintage summer holiday …

First we need to pack our bags.

Next it’s time to hit the road. For a vintage summer holiday we are either taking our cute as Carrie {caravan!} or the kombi. You choose.

Then we need to unpack our things.

Oh So Lovely Vintage

And set up our site. We’re not roughing it, no way! It’s called glamping you know;)

And make use of our gorgeous, vintage creature comforts. Things we may have packed might include: a retro crochet rug,

some vintage storage containers, glasses, cutlery and linen,

cute stripy deck chairs,

and our well loved fold out table.

Now all we need to do is stock the fridge or eski with some delicious morsels to eat, sit back  and unwind…..oh, and put the kettle on!

Because there’s going to be a lot of tea and toast consumption on my next vintage holiday, that’s for sure.

Well, I hope you enjoyed that little vintage summer holiday drool. Any excuse to covert vintage caravan goodies. I’m hooked!

Are you a carrie or kombi type of vintage summer holidayer?

Happy Tuesday!

Oh boy, these images want me to pack pronto and go on a summer holiday.
I have wanted a vintage caravan for the longst time, only trouble is my hubby doesn't share my passion for vintage anything...we plan on travelling around Australia when the kids have flown the coop so there's still time to sway him ;)
I agree completely that tea and toast can be enjoyed at any time.
