Tea & Toast: Vintage On A Wall

Hi there. I’m back after a little tiny week break from Tea & Toast – no internet connection last Tuesday and I’m hopeless at blogging on my iPhone!

OK, well this week I got all inspired after seeing what Rach from the lovely Tea With Lucy has done in her kidlet’s bedroom. She’s nabbed a gorgeous old ladybird reader {nice to see they come in handy for something …little unschooling jab at readers. Woops!}, and tore out the pages for a cute little wall display for her daughter’s bedroom.  You can pop on over there and read her whole blog post on it if you like – then rush back here with your tea and toast and join me on a vintage wall journey.

Vintage windmill on the wall

Photo from Country Style magazine, August 2009.

Do you remember this last image from Country Style magazine? It is so etched in my brain. When I first saw it I loved it and have not stopped coveting this windmill ever since. Not too long ago I noticed that the Oaklands {a cute little country complex of gift shops, antiques, nursery, cafe and more} windmill bit had fallen off it’s perch. Of course I realised that they would just fix it up, after all they put two of  the beauties there for display and decoration, but oh did my mind start to plot and scheme about ways of getting that little baby onto my purple nest wall. Oh well, good thing it was all dreaming – maybe the next nest will don a windmill or two?

I hope you enjoyed that little Vintage Wall journey. Thank you, Tea With Lucy, for being my inspiration this morning:)

Happy Tuesday!
