Aren’t kids some of the best people you can possibly meet? I just love hanging out with them – chatting, pottering, asking them their opinions on things, hearing about life from their point of view. They are so honest and clear and positive. And I love how they immerse themselves in the things around them.
Take my drawings/paintings that I’ve had lying on the rumpus room table for awhile, for example. I’ve been doing some watercolour drawings and paintings and cutting out thingys with cardboard and pretty paper for birthday cards etc every now and again. It’s mainly when Lewi and I spend time doing art together. I’m no artist, that’s for sure, but I like to hang out with Lewi and do what he does so I try to join in as best I can.
Every now and then a visiting child asks if they can do some watercolour and art stuff. Of course they can! I set them up and leave them to it. When they go I often head to the table to see what they’ve been busy working on.
And this is what I’ve found when the kidlets leave {or, in Lewi’s case, finish!}…
Meily’s Monet
Romy’s Rembrandt {Romy hadn’t finished hers while she was here so she asked if she could take some scraps home to do some more on it. This is what she ended up with. So lovely:)}
Lewi’s Leonardo {this was my Mother’s Day card that Lewi made for me}
Georgie and Dulcie have done some really similar masterpieces too which I must get copies of.
I just love it when I find one of these treasures left, lying on the table, drying away. Each one is so special and lovely and I wonder what draws the kids to copy {and make ever so unique}these drawings.
I’m so gratful for kidlets and their art works.
What are you grateful for this weekend?
Why don’t you go and check out Maxabella’s Gratefuls. There’s a lovely long list of blogs to visit and read and relish in.
Might see you there xx

Children's art is glorious to me. It's just pure expression and interpretation with none of the 'shoulda coulda wouldas' that we grown ups worry about. I think it's wonderful too. x
ONE THING I'M GRATEFUL FOR IS COMING TO YOUR BLOG AND JUST SMILING AT THE ARTWORK OF THOSE KIDS. YOU REALLY MUST PUT THEM IN A NICE FRAME. WRAP THEM IN PRETTY PAPPER AND A BOW AND GIVE THEM TO THE MOTHERS AS A GIFT. IF I WAS TO RECEIVE A GIFT LIKE THAT BE SURE IT WOULD HANG IN FULL VIEW. I LOVED EACH ONE OF THEM.
GRANNY FROM TAMPA.
I love children's art and especially my own children's art, as it gives me an window into their thoughts and soul. I'm always amazed at what they come up with. Love the creations you posted.
They are very sweet.
