Adding A Zing Of Colour

Colour says a lot about a person. It also says a lot about their nest. I would have to say that I’m a colour person. I love colour! My house has a lot of colour and they are not shy colours either;) I am changing, though. I’m one of those people who are a bit ‘faddy’ when it comes to colour. I like the ‘in’ colours and interior painting styles of the times. At the moment I’m loving the all white look with splashes of colour here and there – a feature wall perhaps or some colourful soft furnishings and feathering bits and pieces. I love green. It’s my favourite all time colour for everything. Nothing looks bad in green – clothing, jewellery, crockery, house exteriors, house interiors, furniture, book covers, bath mats, the chook pen, nail polish…OK I draw the line at nail polish, but that’s about all.

There are other colours I love too. Red is a special one. Raspberry red would be my favourite tone of red. Blues are great. Black and white {I know, I know, they are not scientifically colours}. Purple. Grey. Charcoal. Pink. Orange. Even yellow. They are all great colours.

Adding zing with colour is probably my favourite way, at the moment at least, of using colour in a nest. I love blocks of colour too but I think colour makes a room zing when it’s used sparingly, but well.

Here are a few different ways to use colour in your nest…

Bodie and Fou - a really lovely blog btw!}

Zingy or what? This is a far-out-man colour choice isn’t it? But I love it! It’s lively and playful yet I think I’d feel calm and restful here too. Green is always a good thing;)

Pretty and soft blues with white and a zing or pinky red. So country style.

Loving this urbany look at the moment – black, white with a hint of natural brown and a zing of burnt orange.

I love a hint of red. So swedish, especially with lots and lots of white.

black and white bedroom

Black and white is so striking yet inviting. Don’t you think?

A zingy green lounge and those flowers. Lovely!

Cool blues and greens with heavy patterns add a cosiness and depth to a cool palette.

white and turquoise decor

A zing of turquoise adds a glam beachy feel to cool white.

I love these boho greens blending with neutrals.

Pretty pinks…

Love this green!!!! LOVE!!!

storage 2

A very zingy room. White washed base with zaps of bright orange, yellow and red.

White doesn’t have to look cold and sterile. The natural colours of the green wreaths and animal skin on the floor teemed with lots and lots of fluffy cushions add texture and cosiness. Looks at the ocean through the windows??? What a perfect natural backdrop to white.

And now for the grand finale….drum roll….

This is how much I love the colour green in a nest. I even think this looks fantastically inviting!! What about you? I will forgive you for not agreeing with me…

Just this once.

LOL!

Gorgeous! I love a bit of colour - but a bit, not a lot. Splashes. Not brave enough for swathes.

Green is my favourite colour too. I am currently trying to be brave enough to put up this amazing green patterned wallpaper I have found on line. I am a bit worried though that unlike paint it won't be easy to switch it up in the future. What do you reckon?

Blue and white seems to dominate our family, and therefore, our home. But I tend to be drawn to red a lot. Colour can be a real mood changer.

Oh look, I'm back. On closer inspection, I really like that mint green rustic room with all the pictures. Lovely.
