Part 2 of Celebrating: A Country Wedding

Yesterday we went to my cousin Ruth’s wedding. What a lovely, lovely day and evening we had. A good old country wedding it was too. There’s really nothing better. Great setting. Great company. Great food. Great wine. Great set up. Great fun.

Ruth was a gorgeous bride and wore an apricot band around her waist which was made from the same material that my aunty Kathy {Ruth’s mum} used for her brides maids dress at her own wedding, all those years ago.

The reception was held at my aunty and uncles’ property, out of town. It’s a gorgeous place ~ serene, pristine and green! LOL My uncle made some lovely timber signs to help guide all of the wedding guests down past the house and to the wedding reception venue.

And what a venue it was! On a grassy knoll, overlooking a beautiful river, the white marquee stood. hay bales and timber slab tables were carefully arranged outsider for some comfortable, rustic seating.

Simple day lilies adorned the fence posts to welcome guests into the reception area.

Inside the marquee a dreamy dining set up was created. A bar sat to the side and a dance floor to the back. Tables and chairs filled the marquee while pretty ornaments of paper lanterns dangled from the billowing muslin roof top.

The food was out of this world delicious! To finish the meal we all had a cupcake, which had been a part of the pretty table decorations.

For added fun, the reception was a casual affair. Not only were the guests in relaxed attire but so to the bride. Ruth changed out of her wedding dress and into a hot pink taffeta dress with cowboy boots. A true country style bride!

This wedding was a truly wonderful experience and I’m so pleased we could be a part of Ruth and Nguyen’s special day.

May your lives be wonderful together and may you both live happily ever after xxx

What a beautiful wedding! The bridesmaids' dressing are some of the most gorgeous I've ever seen. Exquisite! And that reception is positively Martha-perfect -- so lovely in every detail.
