DVD Nights

Lately Lewi and I have been watching a DVD together, after dinner. I have been really 'off' TV watching for most of this year. I'm not really sure what's happened, I think it's blogging to be honest, nut I have no interest nor patience to sit and watch TV anymore. It's weird. Not that I watched much TV before this but I did watch it and I'd have my favourites that I'd enjoy. I'd much rather not watch it now. But Lewi really enjoys me watching a DVD with him so I've been doing that abit this past week. So far this week we've watched:

* The Whole Nine Yards

* Starsky & Hutch

* Supersize Me

* Meet The Fockers {which we've watched before}.

We've really enjoyed each one of these movies but we have been particularly affected by Super Size Me. We watched it last night and both of us could feel pain in our stomachs as we watched the guy gorge on McDonald's. It made us not want to ever eat McDonald's again. Urgh! Lewi kept saying: "I feel like an orange." We were both appalled by the foods available in US school canteens. Kids are freely able to eat chips and greasy food every lunch time. Can't be a good thing.

Meet The Fockers is soooo funny! The second time is just as funny as the first. We have been in stitches all evening watching it. Ben Stiller is so cool and very, very funny. The a...hole scene is very, very funny. So too when Ben Stiller has been given the truth serum and is talking to the baby. Fuuuunyyyy!

I love watching a movie with Lewi. Such a cosy, connecting time. I love laughing with Lewi and stopping the movie to talk about something serious or something he doesn't quite understand.

Can't wait to see Little Fockers. Should be fun.

I'm a bit the same with blogging and TV - we tend to have the TV on at night, but I so rarely watch it now...I'm too busy seeing what all my bloggy friends are up to to be bothered watching :-)

Yes and we are finding there isn't much on at the moment. The boys also love watching DVDs with us. It is a nice chance to curl up together. Haven't seen Supersize Me, sounds good. I love the Karate Kid movies. They have little positive messages in them about life. The third one came out not long ago and is great. Actually they would be good to watch to go with Samurai Kids books.

Thanks for stopping by, Cate. Lovely to have you here:)

Julie, we've just watched the latest Karate Kid movive, totally inspired by The Samurai Kids. We loved it. The bullying scenes are pretty disturbing for Lew {me too, they were pretty full on, weren't they?} but, yeh, great story. Must get the oldies out to watch. I used to love Ralph Macchio!!! I wanted to marry him!
