Bottle Cap Fun

For awhile there Lewi was collecting bottle caps. He'd find them on the ground, give them a quick brush down and stuff them into his pockets. When it came time for me to do the washing I was always hesitant to put my hand in and fish out the pocket residue for fear of finding yet another bottle cap.

Friends and family would also find them for him and pass them on. I think Mark was his biggest supporter though. While he was commuting to and from Canberra and cleaning cinemas, restaurants and shopping centres he would come across millions of bottle caps. He'd carefully select the ones he knew that Lewi would love and trapes them home ready for me to go through the whole process of getting them passable for cupboard dwelling {washing, drying, storing!}

It seems that Lewi's bottle cap interest has somewhat faded. He no longer picks them up with sheer joy and exuberance and he rarely takes them out of the cupboard to look at them anymore. Today though, while he was giving his cupboard a much needed clean up, he brought them out to the kitchen and suggested we do some sort of art work with them. So I've been googling like mad and have come up with some pretty crazy bottle cap art works that might juts inspire him.

There's posters,

and wall hangings,

and magnets

and hand bags,

and car art

and collection posters,

and necklaces,

and fish,

and snakes,

and crocodiles,

and houses,

and bikes,

and lots lots more!

I'll be back with his finished art work...
