Yesterday was our Natural Learner's group get together to celebrate Home Ed Week. We had planned on having a Games Day down at the Valley Fields but due to the wet weather the venue had to be changed.
We ended up meeting at the library for a little while and then we all headed over to Cindy's nest where we had a lovely time playing and gas-bagging and eating {these 3 staples are always present at our get togethers!}.
We also had a little spotlight time. Jen Hunt from the local ABC radio station came along and interviewed some of us for Home Ed Week. The kids were great. They spoke so well and shared a little about home schooling in their lives. I blabbed on as well. I'm cringing at the thought of my nasally Aussie drawl being on air. Agh! It's so tricky. I'm really not great at spontaneity in any aspects of my life but I am especially bad at it when I have to open my mouth. I felt like I didn't get to finish anything I started which was purely because of my lack of remembering where I was going with each point. Thank goodness for pre-recording and good editing. I'm sure Jen will make it all sound flowing and finished. She will, won't she?
If you want to hear us on air go to 810 AM South East Coast ABC radio station on Thursday morning between 8:30am and 11am. We'll all be there, in voice.
A big thank you to Cindy and Martin for opening their lovely nest so we could shelter from the weather and not cancel our get together altogether. It was lovely hanging out in your nest and the kids had a blast. And Cindy, I hope your tooth {or lack of tooth} is feeling OK today xx
