What a lovely experience it is to share in a girl's birthday party. Don't get me wrong, I love boy's parties too. They're what I know ~ being the mumma of a boy, and all. But girl's parties are so very different and, I guess, they bring back memories of my own childhood and parties.
Lynda had her gorgeous bunting out under the covered in area outside of their nest. The area was set up with lovely white cane furniture and tables were covered with pretty gingham tablecloths. Water was served from a blue teapot and 'tea' {aka water} was drunk from precious china tea cups.
The girls had fun playing outside, blowing bubbles, chanting, singing and, of course, who could have an 8 year old girls' party without lots and lots of giggling?
The cake was a deliciously moist butter cake with yummy pink frosting. It was decorated in the most gorgeous mini-bunting which matched one of the bigger buntings hanging over head.![]()

Present unwrapping was next. I love the way Lynda does this. Every time she has a party for her kids she has a 'present unwrapping' circle where all of the kids sit together and give the birthday person their presents one by one. The presents are really appreciated and the giver is heartily thanked. Everyone gets to be a part of the experience. The present givers are delighted when it's their turn to have their present unwrapped and their card {most of which were beautifully hand made} read. So lovely.
Then they came some 'girls bedroom' time ~ listening to Georgie's new Taylor Swift CD on her new stereo, singing at the top of their lungs in perfect group-of-girls style. After awhile {quite a long while} their vocal chords needed resting so they decided to watch Hairspray together. More singing and laughing and girly fun.
To end off the party out came a game of pass-the-parcel. The girls were thrilled with their gifts ~ Lynda's handmade hair ties. So cute!
So it went...10 giggling, happy girls and 2, 10 year old boys had lots and lots of fun today at a lovely mud brick nest on the outskirts of Bega. I'm sure everyone will sleep soundly tonight after a fun-filled girly birthday party.
Happy 8th Birthday, Georgie! Thank you for allowing us to share in your special day with you xx
