Drawing Challenge No# 1

Woo hoo! The first of our Drawing Challenge entries are  ready for display.

It's been so much fun this week, waiting for your  arty emails to arrive.  I feel like this Drawing Challenge will be a real highlight to our week, each and every week.

To recap ~ the challenge was:

Draw an animal from your imagination using only a graphite/lead pencil and a rubber. You can make it look as realistic or unrealistic as you like.

I can't wait to share them with you all...

Drum roll please....

Zach Hooker aged 9 years {and 11/12's}, "The Animal Of Many Animals'.

Wow, Zach. This looks like one crazily, cool creature. I can see some zebra, some giraffe, some cheetah, some Cheshire cat, some spider...what else can you see? Something tells me this guy has a crazy kind of personality.  Just  look at those eyes!

Ptolemy Brydon aged  8 years,  'Zombie Rodent'.

What a freaky, funky furry zombie rodent, Ptolemy. It looks like this creature could be just as agile in the water as it is in the sewer canals. I wouldn't want to bump into this scary guy in a dark alley way - aaaagghh!

DSC01702

Perdi Brydon aged  3 years , 'Crazy Elephant'.

This looks like a lovely, gentle creature, Perdi. Am I right in thinking that? I love the crazy, swirly patterns on it's body and what a cool trunk!

lewi's drawings 004Lewi Dillon aged 10 years,  'Dragonmopotamus'.

Nothing could compete with this gigantic and  fiery creature, Lewi. A perfect blend of dragon and hippo all rolled into one dangerously cool animal.

Jacob Raczkowski aged 10 years, 'Big Earer Elephant Snake'.

DSCF1448

Jacob Raczkowski aged 10 years, 'Big Earer Sand Snake' & 'NaSnake'.

Wow, some really cool animal mixing here, Jake. Big ears, fins, narwhal noses, forked tongues, trunks and whip tails. If these creatures were superheroes, with these combinations, they would make one almighty team!

Aren't  they fantastic? These guys have been drawing their hearts out. I hope they had as much fun drawing as we  did looking at them all.

Thank you to all of you  who participated in this week's challenge.

Can't wait til next week. Keep your eyes peeled for Challenge No# 2.

Awww Luca did a really cool one but before I got to photograph it Anise painted over his pencil drawing in a lovely orange wash and it kind of detracted from Luca's work.
I feel like I've really let him down by nor snapping it immediately, as he drew it on Monday!

All these ones look really fantastic!

Will go for challenge #two.
