Yesterday was a lovely, lovely day. Our very dear homeschooling friends, Julie and Billy, came down from Moruya to visit. We spent the day out and about in Pambula. First at Oaklands where we had a wander around the shops and said hi to my Dad at Joanne's Holmesdale Home Spun. Then we had a delicious lunch at the cafe.
Julie and I had the yummiest sweet potato and rosemary soup with chunky grainy seedy toast. I'm going to try and make it at home;)
Lewi enjoyed a feast of...you guessed it...chicken nuggets and chips!
The boys had fun down at the animal barn. The puppies were a highlight - Billy desperately wanted to take 0ne home but Julie felt that 3 dogs at the moment was already plenty. I'm with her - our ONE cocker spaniel is plenty!
Every time we go to Oaklands we see this goat hanging out up there on that platform. It's like a goat tree house. I'm so freaked out about it doing a number 1 or 2 that I'm reluctant to go too close.
This is a beautiful girl. Herr name's Mac and she's a Clydesdale mare with foal at foot. She's such a gentle giant. I love smelling her. I wish I could bottle it:)
This has to be the biggest Fresian I've ever come across. Mark's been looking up the world records for the biggest bovine. I honestly think this steer has to be very close to being in the Guinness Book of Records - he's massive!
Who can resist a jumping castle? Not these boys xx
Who can resist snapping a photo of an old carousel pony? Not me;)
After Oaklands we took the boys over to the Wetlands area for a bike ride. They had fun riding around the cycle paths and the old Pambula racetrack.
Hmmmm....some old sheds, the pavilion and a grandstand...again, who could resist?????
A new shed made out of recycled materials. These are smattered around the Wetlands area. They look so rustic and good!
After a lovely day out and about we arrived home and had a nice cup of tea while the boys hung out together. Then it was time to say goodbye to our lovely friends as they ventured back to their nest in Moruya.
Thankyou, Julie and Billy for a lovely, lovely day xx
